Curtis Lee McCarty

Curtis Lee McCarty passed away peacefully in his home on March 23, 2022 in Carthage, Mo at the age of 63. Curtis was born May 16, 1958 in St. Louis, Mo to Richard McCarty Sr. and Bertie George. Curtis is survived by his daughter Echo (McCarty) and Justin Valadez of Prucell, Mo. Step children Tara Huff and Joey Honeycutt. Three sisters; Regina (McCarty) Beerly and Don of Neosho, Mo. Tina (McCarty) Lightle and David of Springfield, Mo and Sherri Smith of Joplin, Mo. He was the best Paw Paw to; Jadyn Hayner, Braylee Valadez, Huntlee Valadez, Calvin West, Christian West and Tristan McCammon and 5 great grand children. Curtis is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Richard McCarty Jr of Webb City, Mo.

Curt worked in the family antique auction business for several years before moving to North Carolina to start his own painting/staining business. He was a proud member of the Seeds of Abraham Christian Motorcycle club in NC. Curt traveled any chance he got, he loved long rides on his motorcycle and just being outdoors. He’d say he wasn’t tech savvy, but he was definitely an avid Facebooker. Anyone that knew him knows how proud he was of his family and his grandkids were his were his world! He was a Christian man with strong faith. he will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 26, 2022 at New Grace Assembly in Oronogo, Mo. Pastor Kenneth Miner will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
