Jason Hawkins

Jason Hawkins was born July 24, 1970, in Memphis, TN to Clarence and Sandra Paulette Hawkins (Jones). He passed away Saturday May 6, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO.

Jason was a 1988 graduate of Vinita High School in Vinita, OK. He also spent some time at the College of the Ozarks in Branson, MO. He followed his brothers to Stillwater, OK, where he married Melissa Gaye and had 3 daughters. He was employed long term at Mercury Marine. He again followed his brother and best friend, Dave, to Monkey Island on Grand Lake. Jason was most recently an employee at C&L Supply in Vinita, OK, a job he loved until his health declined.

Jason is survived by his three daughters; Savanah, Courtney and Shelby Hawkins of Stillwater, OK; ten grandchildren and one on the way; parents, Sandra Paulette and Larry Dean Jones of Vinita, OK; long term girlfriend, Melissa Burns of the home and her daughters, Alanea and Holly; sister, Teri McCord of Claremore, OK, Brothers; David Flower and Wendy of Monkey Island on Grand Lake, Eddie Flower and Amber of Fort Smith, AR, Charles Jones and Lesa of Broken Arrow, OK, Neri Reyes and Giovanni Jones of Memphis, TN; Step-Sisters, Rhonda, Julie and Lori of Broken Arrow, OK and Numerous Nieces and Nephews who adore him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 20, 2023, at Emmanuel Church in Vinita, OK (437551 E Highway 60). “Wearing Orange” is welcome as he was a lifelong Oklahoma State University fan. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, MO.
