Scott Forrest White, 69, Joplin, died the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024 at his home after an illness. Born Oct. 23, 1955, in Lincoln, Nebraska, he was the son of Arthur F. “Art” and Margaret E. Wood White. He moved to Joplin in 1959.
He was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. He graduated from the former Parkwood High School in 1973. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and nature lover. He married Rebecca Ewing on Feb. 9, 1980, in Duenweg. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Matthew F. White (Michelle) of Joplin; two daughters, Angela White Jones (Devin), Joplin, and Mary Elizabeth White, Joplin; four sisters, Margo White Eberle, Greensboro, N.C., Leigh White Kupersmith, Bloomington, Ind., Kit White Brothers, Joplin, and Jill White Hickam, Webb City; and four grandchildren, Landon White, Riley White, Jackson Schuette and Madelyn “Maddie” White, all of Joplin.
Cremation is under direction of Ozark Memorial Park. There will be no services.
