Zane Sexton

Zane Burton Sexton, age 48, passed away on January 2, 2023. Zane was born on April 5, 1974, to
Harold Glenn Sexton and Lois Jeanette Sexton (Jan) in Joplin, Missouri. Zane was predeceased by his
father Harold, his mother Jan and is survived by his sisters Jennifer Bass and Laura Rice. Zane also
leaves behind stepsisters; Kara Loden, Katharyn Hansche, Heidi Ruchti, and stepbrothers; Chris
Sexton, Harold (Duke) Sexton.

Zane had been a proud student of Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington Missouri. He had the
opportunity to live in some of the most beautiful cities including Greenwood South Carolina,
Albuquerque New Mexico, and Benson Arizona.

Zane had many occupations throughout his life. He worked in retail, services, and sales, but his heart
was in cuisine in which he prevailed in several roles and worked in restaurants around the city.
Zane had a kind heart that accepted life for what it was. He leaves behind family and friends that will
miss his boyish quality that brought smiles to us all. He took an active role in the lives of his family,
and he loved to spend time with his pets, Alex, Bluebell and Ellie Mae.

He loved the outdoors either it be camping, fishing or just strolling about, as this brought him back to
his youth where he spent most of his time on a farm connecting with nature and animals, free of the
hustle and bustle in the city.

His memory lives on with all that knew him, and his legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we
control our attitudes. Hoping we all choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like
Christ modeled for us. Zane will be looking upon us and sending rays of sunshine from Heaven above.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our friends and family who
were there for us, and all the prayers sent from Central Christian Center, Pastor Hank Deslatte. Also, a
heartfelt thank you to the staff at Freeman Hospital, Joplin Health Center and Ozark Memorial Park
for their dedication and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Joplin Humane Society, an organization
Zane felt strongly about.
