Alva Skelton Jr. peacefully entered into his heavenly home. He was born February 11, 1944, and left this earth January 6, 2024. Alva was a lifelong Joplin area resident. He worked for over 30 years for Pillsbury, General Mills of Joplin. Alva dedicated his life to his Wife and family his only other interest was Kansas City Chiefs football. He was a husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Carrol Dean Skelton. He is survived by one Son Douglas Skelton and his wife Denia of Joplin. And two Daughters Malynda Elwin and Husband Mike of Springdale Arkansas, and Kelli Owen and husband Tom of Joplin, seven Grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a multitude of extended family members. Alva will be forever missed by those that loved him.
A visitation will be at 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm on January 27th at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church on W. 26th St. Joplin MO
