Annie Kathryn Harper (Mack)

Annie Kathryn Harper (Mack) was born on August 15, 1954, to Cecil Hodge and Sadie Harper in Hayti, MO. Kathy made her transition into heaven at the age of 70 peacefully on January 1, 2025 at the Solace Hospice House, ending many years of illness.
Kathy attended Central High School and later obtained her GED through Job Corp in 1974. She lived in El Paso, TX for many years and loved the warm weather. She returned to Hayti to care for her younger siblings and be closer to family. While married, she did not have any children but was a mother to many. She obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant license in 1995 and went on to work in nursing homes caring for the elderly. She worked at Magnolia Square Nursing watching over her mom through her transition.
Kathy accepted Jesus Christ at an early age, through baptism. Her faith in God was pure, strong, and unwavering. She was a member of Jesus Headquarters Church in Joplin, MO for several years. She read her bible daily; prayed over anyone that visited her during multiple hospital stays and at home.
Anyone that knew Kathy recognized her love and passion for cooking. She could literally cook anything in the world and turn leftovers into gourmet meals. She loved crossword puzzles and always finished them without a problem. She was a whiz at solving Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Her favorite pass time was watching cooking shows, westerns, adult coloring books, and reading. Kathy was an avid reader of many magazines, any kind of book, and the reader’s digest. She was a monthly donator for Paralyzed Veterans of America, Boys Town the original Father Flanagan Boys Home, and St. Jude.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil Hodge and Sadie Moore. Maternal grandparents Will and Anna Harper, one brother Damon Moore, two nieces Rosie Johnson; Jamie Harper, and one nephew Arthur Fox. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three brothers: James (Gail) Harper of Tacoma, WA; Kyle (Kate) Moore of Hampton, VA, and Darrell Moore of Neosho, MO. Five sisters: Ruth Vincent of Newport News, VA; Dawn Moore of Indianapolis, IN; Kay Moore of Neosho, MO with whom she had an unmistakable special bond; Diana (Howard) Williams of Henderson, NV and Nakia (Patrick) Jones of Oak Lawn, IL. Two very special nieces Tanya Johnson Boyce of Newport News, VA and Shatila (Anthony) Grife of Neosho, MO. One special aunt Jeannie Harper of Springfield, MO. And 9 nieces, 14 nephews, 40 great nieces/nephews, 5 great-great nieces/nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
