Bessie Howell

Bessie Rachel Logan- Howell, of Joplin passed away Sunday,  February 5th, 2023.

 Bessie was born December 13, 1981 in Houston,TX, the daughter of Charles Logan and Michelle Ellis.  Bessie is survived by her only son: Timothy “T.J.” Howell of Collinsville, IL; her father Charles Logan and wife Kim of Joplin; her mother Michelle Ellis and husband Terry of Carlyle, IL; 5 brothers: Charles Logan of Corpus Christi,TX, Joseph Reincke of St. Louis, Josh Sullivan of Joplin, Mark Ellis of Smithton, IL and Cory Ellis of Smithton, IL; three sisters: Heather Barnum of Oskaloosa, IA, Marissa Logan of Marissa, IL, and Christina Logan of Naperville, IL;  20 nieces and nephews; and three close friends: Don, Ashley, and Greg.  

 Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Howell,  her brother Richard “Lyle” Logan (who passed only 46 days prior to her passing), her father in- law Timothy Howell, Darwin Logan,  Della Logan,  Juanita Reincke, Grant “Sonny” Logan, Deborah Kirkpatrick, and Melvin Haas Jr. 

 Bessie was a free spirit who always followed her heart. She adored her son and all of her nieces and nephews. Bessie was a hard worker who enjoyed taking care of others.  Bessie loved her family and she loved her friends as if they were family. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her.  

 Graveside service and burial will be held at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart, IL. on Wednesday February 15th at 12pm, where she will be laid to rest next to her brother. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
