Not everything is meant to last. You don’t think about that when it’s perfect. And when it’s over there’s a huge hole. But there’s also a pair of wings. Knowing you wherever you are….I know your happy, your flying and free. And I’m here, still grateful for knowing you. Written by Kerry Chesney-Dedicated by Grand-daughter Katrina.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Joplin, MO.

Billie was my Grandma’s Thelma’s cousin. I remember going to visit Billie with my dad and Grandma… as well as a few Smith reunions as a kid. I remember my Grandma explaining how important hosting those reunions were to Bille and that she took on so much to do them. And that she would never take any money to cover any of the costs.

One of my fondest memories was of my Grandma taking me into Billie’s kitchen at one of the reunions when no one was in there and pulling open her silverware drawer… and stuffing cash underneath her butter knives for Billie to someday find. Those Smith ladies could be so savage in the vein of loyalty to one another.
