Carol Jan Finney

Carol Jan Finney, who most knew her as Jan, left this world to be with her heavenly Father on March 24, 2025. She was born on August 23, 1945 in Knoxville, TN to Olga Candreva and was adopted by her loving parents, Joseph and Jane Franano of Kansas City. She grew up in the Kansas City area, graduating from Paseo High School in 1963. 

She moved to Joplin, MO in 1970 and began a 3 decade long career in the real estate industry, first as a secretary, then a licensed sales agent and later becoming a licensed broker.  She was very active in the local Board of REALTORS, serving on several committees, was President of the Realtor Associates in 1980, served as Executive Officer of the Joplin Board of REALTORS, as well as serving on the Executive Committee of the Missouri Association of REALTORS, for which she received an outstanding service aware in 1989.  Jan was active in local organizations, including the Joplin Jaycees and was appointed an Honorary Member of the Region II FHA Hero in 1986. 

She was outgoing, never met a stranger, and loved having gathers with friends and family.. She enjoyed making her favorite spaghetti and meatballs, which was a secret family recipe, but most of all she was active in her church, loved to sing in the choir and loved her Lord and Savior. 

She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Joseph and Jane Franano, and her husband Billy R. Kiser. She is survived by her daughters Teresa Newton, Christina White, her husband Gaylen White Jr, stepdaughter Kanda Cornell, stepson Kenny Arnold and his wife Teri, and stepson Chris Allen Arnold, grandchildren Caylen White, Payton White, Carson Cornell, Garrett Cornell, Kenny Arnold and his wife Beth, as well as several great grandchildren.. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in the student center, south entrance at Forrest Park Church, 7th and Rangeline on Saturday May 10th, from 11 to 1pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
