David Murray

David Bruce Murray, 71, of Anderson, MO., passed February 2, 2023, due to
complications from Alzheimer’s disease.

He served in the US Navy following his graduation from P.V. Moore High
School and later became a Master Welder and Master Plumber and worked.
for Congel Construction for many years. He briefly worked for Oswego.
County BOCES teaching welding courses. Later, he worked for SUNY Upstate
Hospital as a maintenance technician.

Loving the land, David bought property in Little France, NY and started a
small farm which included his beloved dogs, some cattle, and horses. Being
a craftsman, David built a two-story barn on his property which housed a
meat cutting room, tractor and vintage truck storage, and an upstairs.
apartment.
He was an avid hunter and he and a group of friends called themselves the
Swinedogs, hunting both deer and bear, and enjoying their weekends away.
David enjoyed playing tricks on people and harassing his sisters, nieces, and
nephews. He laughed often when with his family and friends and his
twinkling blue eyes would alert one to his mischief.

Recently he had moved to Anderson, MO and purchased property there.
where once again he surrounded himself with goats, pigs, chickens, and
cattle which were part of his daily life and retirement plan as he learned to
relax a little more.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan C. Murray and David H. Murray.
Survivors include his siblings, Sandy Jarvis of Fayetteville, NY, Heather
Murray-Parker of Rocky Mount, VA, and Jill Taylor of West Monroe, NY, step
siblings, Pascal Radley of Arizona. Sue (Jon) Woodworth of Liverpool and
Christina (Art) Dreher of Clay and several nieces and nephews, his two
children, Jason Murray of Central Square, Casey Weaver Howard (Andrew) of
NC, their mother, Stacie Murray of Central Square and his grandson, Owen.
Arlene Evans, his longtime companion of twelve years, and her two sons,
Jacob and Christian accompanied him to MO and were instrumental in his
care during his illness.

A memorial service will be held in Mo, and in NYS at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
