
David Wayne Lightle (63) passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his home in Joplin, comfortably surrounded by his family. He was the son of Franz and Gloria Lightle and the brother of Michael Lightle and Gloria Mae Owens. He is survived by his wife, Tina and sons, David Jr. (Paula) and Jared (Stephanie). He had 4 grandchildren: Emma, David III (Trey), Theo, and Jasper.
David married his soul mate Tina on Valentine’s Day 1981. They welcomed 2 sons who he cherished so much. He was very proud of his boys and the men they became. He truly enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandchildren.
He began working at Hiland Dairy in 1979, and he was still employed there until his passing. They treated him incredibly well throughout his entire career, especially at the end. David loved people and animals. He also loved a well-kept lawn and would mow excessively.
A visitation will be held at Derfelt’s Funeral Home in Galena, KS on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Ozark Memorial Cemetery 415 N St Louis Ave Joplin, MO on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 12:30 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory, Joplin, MO.

He will be missed, David always had a ear to listen and the first to help. We will always cherish his and Tina’s friendship.
Although, he is gone from us physically, he will remain with us forever in our memories.

He was a great friend. A man who truly loved his family and made sure his wife would be taken care of. He will be missed. Tina I may not be there because I have a procedure on Tuesday. Know that you are in my prayers.
Sorry for your loss Tina and family I would have been there but I literally just found out I talked to him on fb a few weeks back and he let me know he was ready and that he couldn’t complain that he had a wonderful life Prayers to you all
