David Wayne Schenck

David Wayne Schenck of Granby, MO entered into rest with family at his side on January 2nd, 2025. He was 65 years of age. David was born on April, 23rd 1959 in Tribune Kansas, son of Frank and Ruth (Clouse) Schenck. He graduated from East Newton High School in 1977 with his best buddy Rick Mishler.

David had many jobs he enjoyed in his life, such as being a Supervisor at Tyson and working for Joplin Greenhouse. He had a love for growing things from plants to animals to raising children. David enjoyed the simple things in life, like a good western or cracking a joke. He had a sense of humor like no other. He taught his children the importance of family and how siblings are forever best fiends.

David is survived by one sister, Sandy Feiser. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Janaya and Carl Lumpkins, Janessa Schenck and Jeremy Hopper, and his son Connor Drake. Trenton, Tristan, Alayna, Cason, and Maxson were the apple of his eye; he loved being a Grandpa. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kassie and his siblings Kathleen, Diane, Paul, Martha, Bonnie and Sam. David’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His family thanks everyone for all of the prayers and kindness during this time. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 18th at 2:00 at Silver Moon Church in Diamond, MO. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, MO.
