Donna Sue Lett, age 61, passed away July 16, 2023, in Kansas City, Ks. She was born November 29, 1961, in Miami, Ok, to Lora and Melvin Lett and was the second youngest of eight children. She graduated from Memorial High School of Joplin, Mo in 1980 enlisted in the Army following her graduation. She was honorably discharged after seven years of service. Donna was married to Raul Aponte for 20+ years and had three children together. Susan Crespino (Kevin) of Carl Junction, Donna Maria Darker (Kyle) of Carl Junction and Carlos Aponte of Joplin, Mo. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and was always seen with a book in her hands.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lora and Melvin Lett of Joplin, Mo, siblings, Nora Darlene Lett, Marie Lett of McAlister, Ok, Mark Lett of Joplin, Mo, Tommy Lett of Joplin, Mo and Warren Lett of Joplin, Mo. Donna is survived by her siblings, Frank Lett of Joplin, Mo and Sandra Crim of Wichita, Ks, children Susan, Donna Maria Daker and Carlos Aponte. Four grandchildren; Cameron and Morgan Crespino of Carl Junction, Mo and Destiney and Brayden Aponte of Joplin, Mo.
A full Military Honors Graveside service will be held Saturday August 5, 2023, at 10:00 am at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Granny Shaffer’s (Parking in the back) 2728 N Rangeline Rd, Joplin, MO.
