On May 13, 2025, Frances Arlene (Bailey) Boyd yelled one last time at kids to get off her porch. She battled liver and lung cancer for a year while holding a cigarette in one hand and a Diet Coke in the other.
She was born in Los Angeles, CA on March 25, 1956 to Wayne Bailey and Betty (Soard) Andrews. She grew up in the Carthage / Diamond / Webb City area most of her life. She liked frog and angel figurines, Long John Silvers, house plants and puzzles. She liked people so much that she would tape a note to her door that said “Leave me alone.”
Her parents, step dad Bobbie “Andy” Andrews, 2 brothers – Kevin and Robert – and 2 sisters – Rebecca and Karen – left this world before she did. She missed her dog Tinkerbell more than she missed the people.
She is survived by her siblings: David (Julie) Bailey of Broken Arrow, OK, Dixie (Jim) Carter of Diana, TX, Ronald Bailey of Miami, OK, Debbie (Steve) Stout who ignores all family members and probably doesn’t deserve to be mentioned, Cheryl Tilton of Joplin, MO, Billy Bailey (Judi) of Crane, MO, Amy Goodan of Neosho, MO, and Tracey (David) Spradlin of Duenweg, MO. She has a ton of nieces and nephews whose names she could never remember.
Cremation is being handled by Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, MO. No formal services are planned at her request. If you feel compelled to honor her memory, go find a stranger and say something mean to them. It would have made her day.
