Harold A Herring Jr.

Harold A Herring, Jr., peacefully passed away at his home on Grand Lake, OK August 24, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1941, in Little Rock, AR, and spent most of his childhood in Topeka, KS graduating from Winona High School in 1959. After high school he enlisted in the Navy and later established a career as a printer in Topeka and Kansas City, then becoming a successful business owner in Mesa, AZ.

He had a passion for cars, boats, motorcycles, and anything that went fast. Friendly and easygoing, he was always willing to lend a hand. With an unmistakable presence, his spirit was both resilient and genuine. His approach to life was uniquely his own, marked by an effortless charm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie Hill Herring Grau and Harold Herring Sr., and his step brother, Jim Grau. Harold is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Kelly Herring Edkin; and his two grandchildren, Gabriel May and Delena May Frank. He also leaves behind three stepdaughters, Kalyn, Kalie, and Traci; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four step brothers, John, Greg, Pat, and Art Grau, whom he always regarded as his own brothers.

A wake to celebrate Harold’s life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, MO.
