Kathy Sleep, 72, of Joplin, MO., formerly of Mason City, Iowa, passed away January 13, 2025 peacefully with family by her side after a short illness. Survivors include her mother, Earlene Hulshizer of Williford, Arkansas, her brother David (Connie) Hulshizer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, two sons Chad (Missy) Sleep of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Jason Sleep (Michelle Massey) of Joplin, MO. Grandchildren Dylan, Ava and Makinlei and great-grand daughter Ziva. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, & grandparents.
Kathy was born December 15, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Bob Sleep January 26, 1974. She had a long career in the car business in which she enjoyed every customer she worked with. Kathy was a member of The First United Presbyterian Church of Baxter Springs Kansas. She will be greatly missed by all! Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO

I worked for Bob many years ago and Kathy would stop by at the shop. Always loved it when she came by. Bob and Kathy were a great couple.

I’m very Deeply Saddened to Hear and Learn of the Recent passing of a great friend of mine. I will always Cherish and Remember our friendship that we shared for over 10 years. My Thoughts, Prayers along with My Deepest Condolences to Kathy’s Entire Family Member’s especially to her Mother Earlene Hulshizer; her Brother David Hulshizer and his wife; two Sons Chad Sleep and his wife and Jason Sleep and his girlfriend along with Grandchildren as well as an Great- Grand daughter.
