Len I. Hicks

Len Ivan Hicks passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving wife
Priscilla of 46 years and family in Carthage, MO, at the age of 86.


Len is survived by his wife Priscilla Hicks of Carthage, MO, brother Jack Hicks of Sweet Springs, MO.
Children are Katherine (Kathy) and (Tim) Harris, Randall (Randy) Hicks of Palisade CO, Ryan and
(Dona) Hicks of Kansas City, MO, Tod Rose of Smithville MO, Monica and (George) Hensler,
Overland Park, KS. Grandchildren Courtney and (Matt) Meeks, Katie Hensler, Jeremey Hicks,
Maegen Hicks, Mason Rose, Amanda Rose. One great grandson Gabriel Meeks, and one great
granddaughter due in December 2024. Len is preceded in death by his mother and father, five
sisters, one brother, and grandson Kevin Hicks.


Len was born to Alvie and Olivia Hicks in Macks Creek, MO. Where he worked on the
family dairy farm. As he grew older he went to work at Reichhold Chemical Company in Kansas
City, MO for 20+ years. He was part of the Platte Co. Sheriffs Posse, MO. Len ran horse
breeding on his farm in Camden Point, MO. Upon retiring Len and Priscilla moved to Carthage,
MO, where he opened his leather shop. Len enjoyed working with leather, spending time with
his family, friends, his horses, going to rodeos, traveling, and was an avid reader always learning.


The celebration of life is scheduled for 1:00pm November 9, 2024 at the Risen Ranch Cowboy
Church 10697 Cimarron Rd Carthage, MO 64836. Steve Stafford will officiate the ceremony,
and all are welcome attend to celebrate Len’s life. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.
