Meghan “Maggie May” Cowan 42, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Friday, August 18th, 2023, at Mercy Hospital. Maggie was born on October 5th, 1980, at Freeman Hospital. She attended Joplin Public Schools and grew up in the country. She loved nature and any animal that could walk or crawl. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and her laughter was contagious. Maggie lived life as if she were on a run away horse. She hung on tight, never looked back, and never showed fear. No matter what obstacle was in front of her, she just kept moving.
Meghan is survived by her father William Cowan of Joplin, mother Vicky Cowan of Joplin, sons Preston Werlecowan and Gage, daughter Mckenzie, grandmother Dorothy Cowan, life partner Patrick Perrin, sister Jessie cox, brother in law Chris Cox, nephews Ryker and Kyran Cox, brother Eli Maples, sister in law Amelia Maples, nieces Sadie and Grace, nephews Abraham and Graham along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her grandfather Lee Cowan.
A celebration of life will be held at Zan’s Creekside Campground on September 9th, 2023, at 5 pm.
