Michele R. Wisner, a warm soul whose laughter could light up the darkest room, left us on March 30, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 1, 1946, in Joplin, MO, Michele lived a life full of love and laughter in Carterville, MO, where she made friends out of strangers and family out of friends.
Michele’s journey was marked by a deep dedication to her loved ones and community. A devoted wife to Thomas Wisner for 42 wonderful years until his passing in 2021, she cherished her family, particularly her 28 grandkids and great-grandkids, who brought her endless joy. Her years working at William’s Foods were filled with camaraderie and commitment until her health necessitated retirement. Yet, her spirit of service never waned. Michele was a proud member of the American Legion for over 30 years and a vigilant participant in the Neighborhood Watch program, always looking out for her neighbors with a keen eye and a caring heart.
Known for her outgoing nature and infectious sense of humor, Michele had a knack for leaving a lasting impression. Her orneriness was legendary, and her trust in people was boundless. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend, offering a helping hand without hesitation.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those she touched, including her surviving children: Donald R. Conklin, Deborah A. Conklin, Robin R. Glover, Jerry Glover, Michael W. German, and Kristi German. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Theresa S. Gossett, and Ronald Gossett.
Michele’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a Celebration of Life, details of which will be shared at a later date. As we remember Michele, we hold her memory close, knowing that she was deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.
