Peter Clark, 61, of Neosho, Missouri, formerly of Burrillville, Rhode Island,
left us peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family
and close friends. He was the devoted husband of Elaine (Crisp) Clark, with whom
he would have celebrated thirty wonderful years of marriage on November 5.
Peter will always be remembered for his big heart, outgoing personality, and winning smile. He was a certified HAM radio operator, KD0IXJ, and was well-
known in the trucking community by his cb handle “Trapper John,” which was inspired by his love of the TV series MASH.
Peter enjoyed his dogs, his bass boat, fishing, and the outdoors. A long-haul truck driver for over 40 years, Peter, together with his wife Elaine, built a successful owner/operator business, “To the Moon Transport.” As partners, Peter and Elaine drove cross country and visited all 48 states. Most recently, they were leased to Bennett. The couple enjoyed time off
the road at their beautiful home on five peaceful acres in Neosho, Missouri.
Peter was born on September 3, 1963, in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was raised
in Pascoag, Rhode Island, by his beloved maternal grandparents, “Gran and
Gramps”, Edith and Peter Kapas. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Carolyn
Kapas Wolf, and his father Liston Lee Clark, as well as his elder brother, Liston
“Chris” Lee Clark, Jr. He was also pre-deceased by his uncle, Peter Kapas Jr., for
whom he was named. He is survived by his wife, Elaine, brother David Clark of
Burrillville, Rhode Island, and two sisters, Michelle Clark of Mars, Pennsylvania,
and Sherri Cook and her husband Brian of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also
survived by his aunt, Elizabeth Kapas-DePetro and her husband Robert of Douglas,
Massachusetts. He was the loving uncle of six and great uncle of eight. Peter was
also comforted in his final days by his long-devoted friends, Rob and Judy Kirk.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks to the dedicated volunteers at
Solace House of the Ozarks in Joplin, Missouri, for their exceptional care during
Peter’s final days. Peter will be cremated, with interment at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory in Joplin.
