Phillip Carl Trichler made his final journey home on October 4, 2023. He was at home surrounded by family, whom he adored with every fiber in his body.
Phillip was born on February 14 th , 1941, in Chanute KS, to Carl & Gladys Trichler. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as both of his brother’s, David & Bill. He married Nancy Lee Gideon, the one and only love of his life, June 2 nd , 1962. Along with wife Nancy, Phillip is survived by son, Phillip Trichler Jr(Michelle), and daughter, Julie Lofton(James), both of whom were the light of his life. He is also survived by 3 grandkids: Shane, Tanner (Hannah) & Scout (Ashley) who brought him and Nancy so much joy throughout their lives watching and supporting their sports behind home plate and seeing them become fathers- saying he was proud of them would be an understatement. This same enjoyment was carried over into spending time with his 3 great-grandkids: Connor, Avery & Remi. He loved spending time with them and watching them grow. Whether it be a chance to play dominos with Connor and Avery or watch them swim, or to hold and rock Remi- all these things uplifted him and brought so much light and joy to his days.
First and foremost, Phillip was a child of God and a faithful follower of Jesus. Phillip and Nancy always put each other first in all things. They worked as a constant team supporting each other every step of the way. He was a Master Craftsman in the Commercial Upholstery & Wood Working Fields, where He & Nancy owned their own businesses. Due to his creativity, unwavering resolve, being honorable and had a meticulous nature for his many trades, he was sought after by people across the entire United States for his expertise, including a former astronaut. As important as his trade crafts were to him, it was equally important for him to pass along his knowledge and expertise by taking the time to teach others who were interested in the trade. He truly lived by the motto “You never work a day in your life, when you love what you do!”. In his free time, Phillip lived for five things: God, His Family, Piloting
Planes, Racing Jet Boats & Scale Model Trains. Phillip lived his life to the absolute fullest, while always
staying brave, personable, humble, active, & prideful.
Phillip was loved by many, liked by most and will be missed by all.
