Robert Bethel a proud veteran of the US. Air Force, passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 82 in Joplin, Mo, the city of his birth. He was an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Agency having dedicated years to ensuring the safety of air travel. Born on September 4, 1941, in Joplin, Mo. He attended Joplin High School before serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1964.
He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, a hobby that brough him joy and relaxation. He was a loving husband to Lynda for 62 years and is survived by his sister Susan Simms (Jim) of Raymore, Mo, along with nieces Nikki Mercier (Joey), Robyn Riordin (Matt), Anna Chang (James) and many great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Katherine.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
