Sherry Lynn Faulkner

Sherry Lynn Faulkner 73 of Joplin Mo

She was born on January 29, 1951, and became an angel on August 4, 2024.  Sherry was the daughter of Jasper and Gladys Drew, and the loving and devoted wife of James E Faulkner Sr, as well as a loving and passionate mother to Jaime and Roy Nichols of Webbcity, and James jr and Nikki Faulkner of Carl Junction. She was proud to be called Mamaw by her very beloved grandchildren, Chase and Vennessa (Veni) Nichols of Carthage, Briana and Andrew Dwinell of Joplin, and Royce Nichols of Carterville. As well as Jade and Riley Daniels of Springfield, and Kaci Kirby and Liam Faulkner of Carl Junction. Sherry was also blessed to say she was a great-grandmamaw to Brysen and Ellee of Joplin and Jaydyn, Graysen, Rylen and McKenna of Carterville.

Sherry spent her entire life providing for her family, always putting their needs before her own.  Sherry met the love of her life, James, while she was a waitress before marrying him in 1970.  She had many more jobs over the years, but her favorite were the ones she worked by her husbands side. They were truly inseparable.

Sherry enjoyed cross stitching but she especially enjoyed gifting the things she made to the people that she loved. While Sherry was creative, she was also a natural born nurturer. Everyone said she had a green thumb and her most favorite plant was Ivy. And if you asked Sherry what her favorite drink was, she would be quick to tell you it was an ice cold coke.

Sherry loved a lot of things, but her beloved husband was the most precious of all. She truly appreciated every moment with him, from spontaneous yard sales to collecting new shot glasses from every state they visited. Whatever they were doing, Sherry was just happy to be by James’ side. And anything tweety bird she just had to have.

Sherry struggled for several years with stage 4 heart failure and was cared for at home by her husband who was just as devoted to her as she was to him. James’ passing on July 26, 2024 was the day the inseparable pair were split. In her grief, she wanted nothing more than to be with him, and on August 4, 2024 the Lord called her home so she could.

James and Sherry are together now, drinking an ice cold coke and unsweetened tea. Sitting on their porch and watching the windmills in their yard spin on by. Sherry is at peace by her husband’s side, just as she always loved to be.

Services will be held on August 17, 2024 @ 12pm at Rooted Baptist church 302 S Main Carl junction, Mo. All arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.

Sherry and James were my friends. They were one of the good things God blessed me with in this life. I am glad that they both drew closer to God over the last seven years.
