Vincent Eugene Willard, aged 66, was a resident of Joplin, Missouri at the time of his passing. He was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Mary Helen Scott and Carl Eugene Willard. His stepmother, Imogene Fewell, was born in Clinton, Missouri.
He had one of the biggest hearts and was always going out of his way to make people laugh. He would keep you laughing with his self-proclaimed glorious nicknames and his gibberish talk.
Loved playing cards and dominoes, and had a competitive nature. “She’s tender” he would yell as a domino would hit the board. Loved sports and played football and basketball in high school. He, like his Dad, was a loyal KC Chiefs fan.
He was very neat and tidy about his appearance and belongings and had a perfect, very pretty handwriting.
Nothing compares to his deep love of music and cooking. No matter the genre of music, he would sing with all his heart. His home was always filled with music and the smell of good food.
Preceded in death are his g-parents, (Mildred Harris and Clyde Willard), parents (Mary Scott and Carl Willard) and step-mother, (Imogene Fewell) one sister, (Peggy Campbell) 2 uncles (Robert “Bobby” and Melvin Willard) and 2 aunts (Edith Hawkins and Momma Minnie Wrenn). A nephew, (Andre Willard) And mother of his children. (Lynette Vann). And four of his first cousins. (Woodrow Wrenn, Jr., Regina Wrenn, Wayne Hawkins, and Vicki Hawkins).
He leaves behind a legacy of humor, love, and a knack for getting into mischief. We will all miss his playful nature.
He is survived by three children, Vincent Eugene Willard Jr, Vanessa Rennee Willard, and Moriah Jo Hood, eight beautiful grandchildren Devonte, Eladia Gleyhonna, LilyOnna, Dezziona, Kamdyn, Adonis and Kordae, two sisters Shelba Williams and Gloria Mitchell, two brothers Darvin Willard and Craig Young, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, one Aunt Maryetta Willard and many cousins.
Although “Viny” is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the heart of all who knew and loved him. And to that we quote his last words to everyone he spoke with; “HEARTBEAT”!!! Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO
