Virgil Glynn Mitchell, age 64 of Granby, Missouri. Passed away on September 18, 2024 due to battling cancer.
Virgil was born August 4, 1960 to the late Gene and Mable (Sauzo) Mitchell. He graduated for Lakin High School of Lakin, KS in 1979. He then attended Garden City Community College.
He worked at the cattle feed yard from 1978 to 1984. Then he started driving a truck. He enjoyed the open road and in his final years of driving he worked for Best Mark Express, INC of Strong City, KS for Mark Miller. He had 3 wonder dogs ZOE, Butch and Toby.
Virgil is survived by one son, Jonathan Pena of Joplin, Missouri. Five Brothers, Eddie, and Wife Pettie Mitchell of Goodman MO. Leroy Mitchell of Tulsa, OK. Rickey Mitchell of Neosho Mo. David and wife Renee Mitchell of Quapaw, OK. Ronnie and wife Rhonda Mitchell of Owasso, OK. Three Sisters, Barbara and husband Steve Mathis of Webb city, MO Nancy and Husband John Kappel of Granby, MO and he was preceded in death by the late, Susan Mann 67, August 12, 2024 of Jefferson City Mo. Virgil has thirteen Nephews, three nieces and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and Friends that he loved dearly.
Virgil loved Cooking for family, going on Cruises and the outdoors, he also enjoyed listings to classic country, auto books, watching westerns and the series Friends.
Virgil’s final resting place will be at Valley View Cemetery in Rockford, CO. He will be put with his Mom and Dad.
The celebration of life will be on September 28, 2024, at Life Point Church, 1700 South Prosperity Ave. Joplin, MO. at 1:00 PM Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, MO.
