Mark Harold Laurie Sr

In fond memory of Mark H. Laurie Sr., who went to rest just shy of his 65th birthday on February 1st, 2024. He had a remarkable soul who was always ready to lay a joke down and left an impact everyone he encountered. He was adored by his Sarcoxie Nursing Center care givers for his wit and entertaining demeanor.

A proud Army veteran, Mark fearlessly served his country, embodying courage and honor. Whether riding the waves of the Pacific or conquering snow ski competitions, he embraced adventure with unmatched passion.

Mark’s love for all things with an engine was evident in his enthusiasm for dirt bikes, four-wheelers, and his mastery in working on cars. His mechanical skills were only surpassed by his love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed nascar, sweet treats and his dog named, Precious. Mark’s legacy extends through his five children: Shasta Gift and spouse James Gift, Allen Laurie, Daniel Laurie, and Mark Laurie Junior, along with eight adoring grandchildren: Riley and Lily Gift, Aspen, Brooks, and Cache Laurie, Aurora Laurie, and Waylon and Linkin Laurie and sister; Andrea Laurie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Muriel Laurie and brother, Ron Laurie.

Mark’s journey on this earth may have concluded, but the memories of his vibrant spirit will forever live on. As he finds solace in the arms of Jesus, may his family and friends take comfort in the knowledge that he is finally free from pain. Mark H. Laurie Sr. will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in his extraordinary life.
